I’m so excited! My best friend, Dee, is having her baby!

I had this weird dream yesterday that she would go into labour at 5am today and be back home by 1pm. Well, she woke up at 7am and noticed contractions had started. Labour seems to be progressing fast as contractions are now only 3 minutes apart and lasting close to 60 seconds.

I doubt she’ll be home by 1pm with her new baby girl, but she’s off to the hospital now so hopefully it won’t be long.

Update: It’s now 2:30pm and seems she’s only 4cm dilated and her waters still haven’t broken. The pain is nasty too. Was really hoping she was gonna sail through, fingers crossed the rest of the journey is quick.

Update 2: 8pm, only 5cm dilated and still no baby. She’s had to have her waters broken manually and has now had an epidural. Poor girl sounds absolutely shattered.

Update 3: Little baby S born shortly before 1am on October 1st weighing just under 7lbs. The friend I’ve known since I was 12 is finally a mum!

Woot! I’ve finally gotten off my arse and created a conception/pregnancy blog. Been meaning to do this for ages but wasn’t really sure I’d have anything interesting to write. Had so many things happen in the last fortnight though that I wish I’d been able to blog about, so I guess I’d better start pronto!

Need to get this place looking spiffy first. Look out for the upcoming info page which I’ll add as soon as I’m happy with the basic layout.
